Project Description
Escalante Visitor Center
Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument
Escalante exhibits address the ecology and diversity of the Monument.
The lobby features a tabletop terrain map of the Monument, (common to all visitor centers) a wall photo matrix depicting diversity, and an overhead flight of raptors.
A big horned sheep sculpture acts as a symbol of species reintroduction.
The exhibit area has a walk-through section of magnified biological soil crust, a riparian diorama and discovery stations for lichens, insects and plants.
An interactive “Ask the Experts” media station allows visitors to experience natural science with scientists in the field.
