The story of disturbance ecology, and how life returns, is told through a blend of electronic media, hands-on interactives, and refreshing interpretive art.

An overview of the story is presented in “Change of Scenes”, a stirring multi-video event. “Instant Landscapes”, displays six dissolving scenes that visitors view through a wireframe model of the mountain. The “New Landscapes” wall features several interactive discoveries through a variety of techniques.

Colonizers and survivors are depicted with 12 magnificent illustrations and 3 mini-dioramas. “Ecoscape” and “Futurescape” use videodisc technology and brilliant animation to involve the visitor in the process of reforestation and colonization.
